Obituary of Janice C. Carpenter

Smethport - Janice Carol Carpenter, 78, of Smethport, died Monday (November 27, 2017) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born Feb 22, 1939 in Mt. Morris, NY, a daughter of Leland and Ruth M. Jaggard Thompson. On Feb. 22, 1975, in Eldred, PA, she married Thomas R. Carpenter, Sr., who survives. Mrs. Carpenter was a housewife tending to the needs of her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: Three sons: Gary and Kevin Lehman and Thomas R. Carpenter, Jr. Four daughters: Valerie, Connie, Gina and Carol Lehman Several grandchildren Four sisters: Phyllis Burt of Black Creek, NY, Marilyn Schneider of Rochester, NY, Gloria Gross of Cuba, NY and Joni Thompson of Victor, NY And several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Maynard and Leonard Thompson. Private family services will be held at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.
