Obituary of Paul W. Evens

Port Allegany - Paul W. Evens, Sr., 91, of, Port Allegany., died Tuesday (April 3, 2012) at his home in, Port Allegany. He was born Aug 3, 1920 in Birch Run, a son of Benny and Mabel Whitney Evens, On May 10, 1941 in Port Allegany, he married Marion E. Curtis, she died April 11, 2004. Mr. Evens was attended schools in Angelica NY. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy. Mr. Evens was a backhoe operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and for his own private service. He also worked at Pittsburgh Corning Corporation for many years. During his years of employment He found time to operate his own farm. He is survived by One daughter: Penny M. (Buck) McGarvey of Port Allegany, PA One son: Gary C. Evens of Port Allegany, PA Twelve grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild He was preceded in death by two sons Paul W. Evens, Jr. and James B. Evens; one brother Edward Evens; two sisters Mary Jane Farnum and Grace Demick; and one grandson Michael A. Evens. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012, from 2 - 4 and 6-8 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA, where funeral and committal service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 7, 2012 with the Rev Michael Culver, Pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.
