Obituary of Richard M. Knight

Roulette- Richard M. Knight, 79, of, Roulette, died Friday (December 30, 2011) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. He was born Mar 1, 1932 in Olean, NY. the second son of Murle D. and Grace E. Church Knight. On August 13, 1955 in Port Allegany, he married Josephine McAfee, who survives. Mr. Knight was a 1950 graduate of Roulette High School and attended Thompson Business College, Harrisburg, PA., completing a course in business administration and higher accounting in 1952 Mr. Knight first job was bookkeeping for J.F. Brown, a welding contractor in Roulette. He was then employed as a payroll clerk with Bechtel Corporation during the construction of the gas line from Hebron, PA and Pigeon. PA. In 1953 he went to work at Central Buick Co. In Coudersport as a bookkeeper and continued until 1958 at which time he was employed by the Wellsville, Addison & Galeton RR Corp. in Galeton as a accounting clerk until 1968 at which time he worked for Robbins Chevrolet, Inc. In Coudersport as their business manager. That business was sold to Kightlingers Motors in 1978 and in 1981 he began employment at Cubic Storage Co. In Weston Mills, NY retiring in 2000. He also served as Roulette Township Secretary from 1977 through 2001. In addition to his wife, he is survived by One son Jeffery Knight of St. Marys, PA two daughters: Susan Diane Reese of Norfolk, VA, Ellen (Keith) Marie Sweat of Alpharetta, GA Two grandchildren Michael Reese and Zachary Sweat two brothers: Raymond Knight of Sun City AZ and Thomas A. Knight of Dawsonville, GA There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, Port Allegany with the Rev. Carl Greene, pastor of the 1st Seventh Day Baptist Church of Hebron officiating Burial will be in the Fishing Creek Cemetery, Roulette, Twp.
