Obituary of Vito Joseph DeCarlo

Port Allegany - Vito Joseph DeCarlo, 83, of, Port Allegany, died Friday (November 25, 2011) at his home in Port Allegany. He was born Sept. 27, 1928 in Brant, NY, a son of Angelo and Katherine Mecca DeCarlo. Mr. DeCarlo was a North Collins High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. DeCarlo worked on his family farm in Florida and later as a truck driver. He also worked as a mechanic and owned and operated DeCarlo's Pontiac in Coudersport, PA. He is survived by three sons: Michael (Tamika Appleby) J. DeCarlo of Port Allegany, PA, David (Georgeanna) DeCarlo of Port Allegany, PA, Mark (Tammy) W. Higgins of Coudersport, PA 12 grandchildren two sisters: Carmella Schievitti of Buffalo, NY, Josephine Clayback of Buffalo, NY one brother: Vincent DeCarlo of Dunkirk, NY Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Monday Nov. 28, 201, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc 105 N Main St. Port Allegany, PA. A Christian Wake service will be held at 1:45 pm Monday in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday Nov 29, 2011 in St Gabriel's Church with the Rev. James Campbell, pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in the St Gabriel's Cemetery, Port Allegany. Military Honors will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard.
