Obituary of Paul J. Stoner

Smethport- Paul J. Stoner, 88, of Smethport, died Thursday (June 23, 2011) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. He was born Sept. 15, 1922 in Muhlenberg, a son of Albert and Katie Strump Weidman. On March 13, 1942, in Fleetwood, PA, he married Pauline May Barlet, who died September 23, 1972. Mr. Stoner was a graduate of Fleetwood High School and served during World War II as a Pvt. in the U.S. Army. Mr. Stoner worked at Deka Batteries of Reading, PA as a security guard for many years. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 10 of Reading, PA. He is survived by one daughter: June Marie Krape of Williamsport, PA step daughter, Jodie M. Barlet of Blardon, PA 2 step sisters: Anna M. Kaucher and Kathryn Hoffman Weatherly Special Friends: Larry and Laura Vandermark of Smethport, with whom he had resided, and 5 special grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Cemetery in Fleetwood, PA.
