Obituary of Rita G. Clark

Smethport - Rita G. Clark, 87, of Smethport, passed away Wednesday (April 6, 2011), at Bradford Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 14, 1923 in Olean, NY, a daughter of John M. and Katherine Levandoski Conkle. On Feb. 23, 1946, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, PA, she married Robert G. Clark, who died in Feb. 1969. Mrs. Clark was a 1941graduate of Smethport High School, a past Postmistress in Cyclone, PA, and a long time employee of Johnson's Diner (now the Route 6 Diner), Smethport. Mrs. Clark was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport. She loved bowling and was a member of the Smethport Ladies Bowling League. She is survived by three daughters: Jacqueline (Jay Paul) Kahle of Duke Center, Anne Marie (Craig) Sluga of North East, PA, and Kathleen (Peter) Brown of Eldred. one son: Robert Clark of Latrobe, PA one brother: John Conkle of Smethport six granddaughters: Felicity (Sluga) Wood of Richmond, VA, Kelly (Brown) Boghdadi of Chester Springs, Rachel (Sluga) Johnson of Rochester, NY, Erin Brown of Richmond, VA, Emily (Sluga) Kaizer of North East, Sarah (Kahle) Fowler of Duke Center, one grandson: Joseph Clark of Latrobe, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, April 9, at 10 A.M., in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Rosary Altar Society of St. Elizabeth's Church, Smethport, or to the Hamlin Memorial Library, Smethport.
