Obituary of Wava G. Johnson

Port Allegany- Wava G. Johnson, 89, of, Port Allegany, died Thursday (February 17, 2011) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. She was born Dec 7, 1921 in Port Allegany, a daughter of Gerald L. and Tina D. Meacham Strang. On April 29, 1945 in Port Allegany, she married Roy M. Johnson, who died May 25, 1995. Mrs. Johnson was a 1940 graduate of Port Allegany High School. Mrs. Johnson was a secretary employed by Port Allegany High School from 1955 until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and was an avid bowler. She is survived by Two sons: Ronald W. (Debbie) Johnson of Port Allegany, PA, and Keith L. (Jan) Johnson of Cuba, NY One brother: Earl F. Strang of Hagerstown, MD, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband 5 brothers and 2 sisters Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 2 - 4 and 6-8 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA, where funeral and committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday February 21, 2011 with the Pastor Gregory Miller officiating.
