Obituary of Doreen I. Elder

Port Allegany - Doreen I. Elder, 74, of, Smethport, died Monday (January 3, 2011) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born Mar 25, 1936 in Allison Park, a daughter of James Henry and Ruth Ryan Geisler, In 1957 in Winchester, VA, she married Laverne Elder. Mrs. Elder attended Mars Area Schools and was a graduate of Port Allegany High School. Mrs. Elder was a Home Health Aide employed by several local agencies. She was a member of Women of the Moose #205, Port Allegany, Port Allegany Star Hose Co. No 1, Ladies Auxiliary, Port Allegany, Roulette Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary and the Thursday Morning Bowling League. She is survived by five sons: David (Tina) Elder of Smethport, PA, James Henri Elder of Waynesboro, VA, Robert Elder of Albuquerque, NM, Timothy (Tammy) Elder of Cody, WY, Daniel J. (Amanda) Elder of Charlotte, NC 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren five sisters: Coreen (Roy) Marshall of Valencia, PA, Doris Stone of Butler, PA, Adele (Michael) Dignin of Indianapolis, Martha Blystone of Tidioute, PA, Jacqulin (William) Reay of Butler, PA She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, E.J. Geisler and her long time companion Richard Klawuhn Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 from 4-6pm at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA. Funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 pm with the Rev Allen Young, pastor of the East Smethport Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
