Obituary of Frances G. Cory

Smethport - Frances G. Cory, 95, of Smethport, died Friday (November 5, 2010) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born Aug 26, 1915 in Farmers Valley, a daughter of John Frederick and Elizabeth Marie Keesler Hewitt. She married John D. Cory, who died Feb. 13, 1970. Mrs. Cory was a 1933 graduate of Smethport High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she was involved with their Pink Elephant Resale Shop, and the Crosby Grange. She is survived by: 6 Nieces: Phyllis J. Green, Maxine E. Nawrocki, Dixie McGavisk, Bonnie Conklin, Judie Jarbeck, and Karla Hewitt 2 nephews: Thomas S. Hewitt and Gordon Cory 2 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren, many Great Nieces and Great Nephews In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a nephew she raised as a son, Richard Joseph Cory, who died in 1997, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10-11 A.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will begin at 11am, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
