Obituary of James E. Commino

Port Allegany - James E. Commino, 77, of, Port Allegany, died Saturday (August 7, 2010) at his home in Port Allegany. He was born Sep 5, 1932 in Washington, PA the son of Sylvester and Ada Holmes Commino. On July 14, 1956 in Austin, he married Anna Mae Major, who survives. Mr. Commino was a 1950 graduate of Clearfield High School and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army from 1953 thru 1955 Mr. Commino Owned & Operated Port Exxon Service Station in Port Allegany for 36 years from 1958-1984. After retiring from the service station he drove school van For Culver Bus Garage for 15years He was a member of Port Allegany United Methodist Church, past member of the Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460, Port Allegany, was a Life member and past president of the Port Allegany Star Hose Co. No 1, Port Allegany. He was one of the founding members of the Fireman's Bingo. He was also a member of the Port Allegany Senior Center 50 Plus Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Two daughters: Tammy Lynn (Gary) Seifert of Charlotte, NC, Cathy Jo Commino of Port Allegany, PA One son: James A. Commino of Las Angeles, CA One sister: Freda Robson of Coryville, PA One brother: Douglas Commino of Kansas City, MO 3 Grandchildren Randi, Brady, and Christopher Ryder of Charlotte, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and one Brother, Donald Commino. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at 2 pm in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Port Allegany, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in the Grimes Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard. Memorial may be made to the Port Allegany United Methodist Church, Port Allegany Ambulance Service, Potter County Hospice, or the Port Allegany Star Hose Co. #1, Port Allegany.
