Obituary of Charlotte L. Clutter

Smethport - Charlotte L. Clutter, 79, of Smethport, passed away Friday (May 24, 2024) at her residence in Smethport.

 

She was born November 4, 1944 in Bradford, PA, the daughter of Carl and Catherine (Rounsville) Anderson. On November 19, 1972, in Portville, NY, she married Dale W. Clutter, who died April 22, 2007.

 

Charlotte graduated from Smethport High School in 1962. Over the years, she worked as a Naval Officer Secretary in Washington, D.C., she owned and operated the Corner Restaurant and the Smethport Laundromat, had worked at Jaguar in Smethport, as well as Zippo in Bradford in the etching department.

 

She was a member of the Smethport Senior Center. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Cards and games, camping with family and being a “Snow Bird” traveling to Florida and spending the winter season there. She was also a member of the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 Auxiliary of Smethport and the Smethport VFW Post #2497 Auxiliary.

 

She is survived by:

One daughter: Kim Borkowski of Limestone, NY

One son: Michael (Sandy) Heilbrun of Tioga, PA

Grandchildren: Carissa Higley, Kyle Heilbrun, Derek Heilbrun, and Colin (Chloe) Heilbrun

Great grandchildren: Kohan, Arabella, Poppi and Stetson

And several nieces and nephews

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Ralph and Leonard “Lenny” Anderson.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, from 10-noon in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral services will begin at noon in the funeral home, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
