Obituary of Laura K. Ladlee
Smethport - Laura K. Ladlee, 73, of Smethport, passed away Saturday (August 12, 2023) at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, after battling with cancer.
She was born June 26, 1950 in Olean, NY, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Dufton) Bridge. On June 17, 1968, in Portville, NY, she married Roland James Ladlee, who survives.
Laura was a 1968 graduate of Port Allegany High School. She worked at Pittsburgh-Corning in Port Allegany for many years, where she was a quality control inspector.
Laura was the union secretary while working at Pittsburgh-Corning. She enjoyed spending time camping and tending to her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
One daughter: Sherry A. Dumire of Smethport
Two sons: James R. (Kelley) Ladlee of State College, PA and Brian S. Ladlee of Smethport
Thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine R. Henderson on May 28, 2021, and a step daughter, Paula G. Cross on March 5, 2001, along with one brother.
A memorial service will be held at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023 at 11 AM with the Rev. Max Simms, officiating. Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove, PA.
