As a friend of his son's, Tom and Mary were always so kind and so patient. They played host to our soccer teams, video game nights, and at one point a hardcore garage band. Even as a kid, Tom would show us the latest bear he'd caught, which fascinated us.
Thank you for everything, Tom.

Memories of Tom
What can we say about Tom? We first met as next-door neighbors and quickly bonded over shared interests of hunting and wildlife. Between hunting trips in this area and trips to Mississippi, there were many stories to be told. Rick has many memories of spending hours with Tom traveling and hunting throughout the years. After meeting friends from Mississippi, lasting friendships developed.
Among other things, he was a giver. He brought a bear trap to school when we were teaching. He tranquilized the bear then dragged it out on the grass and gave our classes a lesson about bears. After Tom’s talk, for some reason, the bear rose up prematurely from his tranquilized state and ran into the woods. We hurried our students back into the building and made memories we will never forget!
He was a great friend and provided adventure. We will miss him very much. Rest in peace, Tom and blessings to your whole family.

Q: How did you meet Thomas?
A: I had the greatest pleasure and educational opportunity of working with Tom at the Game Commission, Tom was gearing up to end his service and I was just beginning mine. Tom had the greatest laugh, and was always willing to teach a newbie. I did several "ride-a-longs" with Tom and walked away with new knowledge and a deeper understanding of what the Wardens needed from me to do their jobs better.
My prayers are with the Sabolcik family. Tom may you find mountain roads and peaceful valleys to explore may you rest in peace my friend.

Mary and family, we are so sorry to hear the news of Tom's passing. Tom was a fine gentleman and friend who helped many young people develop a love and passion for nature and wildlife. I would receive a call wanting to know if my students would like to see a Bobcat or other animals he might have. He also took us on a bear tagging trip which Toot will always remember. He loved his job and shared his passion, he will be missed.

Taken way too soon my friend. Tom was a friend who happened to be my neighboring officer. He was always available and always had my back when I needed him. A kind and thoughtful person who will be dearly missed. Love, condolences and prayers to Mary and Tom's sons Ryan and Christopher.
