My condolences to the entire family. Berta touched so many lives she will live on in all of those she met and loved.
My best memory was the summer I put an addition on their back deck. Every morning I would show up just before 7am to start work. Before I could start work though I always had to wait for the spaghetti to get done boiling. It was for one of the cows that had a bum leg. Berta made it her pet and every morning she would get up boil a box of spaghetti and we had to feed it to her pet cow. All you had to do is go out on the back deck between 6:45 and 7 am and the cow would be waiting for its noodles.
It is this type of compassion she had for everything and everyone that I will always remember. A great lady has left us but will always be with each of us in the way she touched our hearts
