Obituary of Frederick H. Redmond
Port Allegany - Frederick Harold Redmond, 85, of Roulette, passed away peacefully Tuesday (March 8, 2022) at UPMC-Hamot, Erie.
He was born December 30, 1936 in Whitesville, NY, the son of the late Frederick and Mildred (Swartout) Redmond. On June 21, 1958, he married the love of his life, Shirley Jean Hammond, who survives.
He resided at the Redmond family farm for 83 years. Fred was a hardworking farmer and logger, who enjoyed gardening, hunting and visits from his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends who he loved so much.
In addition to his wife Shirley of 63 years, he is survived by:
five children: Regina (William) Sikes of Fairport, NY, Ruth (Garry) Callaghan of Honeoye, NY, Rachelle (Danny) Patrick of Cannel City, KY, Ryan (Lisa) Redmond of Port Allegany, RuBen (Melissa) Redmond of Port Allegany
seven grandsons: Richard (Shannon) Barnard, RuBen (Shelby) Redmond, Jr., Levi Redmond, Hunter (Dana) Redmond, A.J. (Bella) Redmond, Maeson Redmond and Shawn Tucker
eight granddaughters: Ashley (Thomas) Braaten, Brittany Barnard, Lakela (Jeremy) Goble, Kristen (Spencer) Taylor, Avaree, Natile, Ryleigh and Grayce Redmond
nine great grandchildren: Leah, Annabelle and Kaylee Braaten; Jeremy Goble, Jr., Nova Grace and Tanner Taylor, Nate Baker and baby Barnard due in September.

Sister-in-law: Gloria Redmond of Roulette
Brother-in-law: Jim Joseph of Olean, NY

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by one son, Ronald E. Redmond, brothers: Robert, Philip, George and Daniel Redmond, sisters: Florence Joseph and Ruth Boyer
Rev. Alan Long of the Sartwell Creek Union Church will be officiating a memorial tree planting service scheduled for May 21, 2022 at 1 PM on the Redmond Family Farm, 7 Coleman Mills Road, Port Allegany, PA 16743. A luncheon will be served at the Sartwell Creek Union Church, Sartwell Creek Road, immediately following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sartwell Creek Union Church, the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
