Obituary of JoAnn Brown
Port Allegany - JoAnn E. Brown, 90, of Port Allegany, passed away Monday (June 28, 2021).
She was born July 14, 1930 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Frederick and Madilyn Parish Swanson. On November 1, 1967, in Port Allegany, she married Donald C. “Brownie” Brown, who died on August 28, 2016.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Port Allegany High School Class of 1948 and OBI, Olean, NY.
JoAnn worked in the shipping department for Pittsburgh Corning of Port Allegany, for many years, retiring in 1993.
She was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Port Allegany and was a member of the Eastern Star for 56 years. JoAnn enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing, gardening, playing Bridge. She was most happy spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frederick Swanson, Jr.and a nephew Fritz Swanson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 3 at 11:00 am from the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Arnold Ave, Port Allegany, with the Rev. Joann Piatko, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
