Obituary of Christine Renee Henderson
Hazel Hurst--On Friday May 28, 2021, Christine Renee Henderson, 43, passed away in her home, surrounded by her family.
Christine was born on September 14, 1977 to Roland and Laura Ladlee in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Smethport, where she attended Smethport Area Junior Senior High School, graduating in 1996. On September 1, 2001, she married Michael Henderson, who she loved dearly to her final breath. She later attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology, an accomplishment of which she was very proud.
Christine lived in Hazel Hurst with her husband and young children, where she showered her entire family with love. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, cooking and baking, spending time with her husband, and watching her children grow.
Christine was an avid mountain biker, who in her spare time loved exploring new trails, lit up when talking about bikes, rides, and trails with her nephew, Hunter, and treasured time spent sharing in the joys of nature with her children and family. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister, who would do anything to help those in need. A woman very strong in her faith, Christine was also a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church. She was sure that this was not “good-bye,” but rather “see you later.”
Meeting her in heaven, Christine was predeceased by a sister, Paula Cross, her maternal grandparents Robert and Margaret Bridge, her paternal grandparents Florence and Roland Ladlee, and a number of aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her parents, Roland J. and Laura K. Ladlee of Smethport, her brothers, Brian Ladlee and James (Kelley) Ladlee, and a sister, Sherry Dumire, as well as her loving husband, Michael, and her five children, Cassandra, Joseph, Matthew, Sarah, and Katherine. She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Diane and Steve Henderson, her brother-in-law, Aaron (Mary) Henderson, and by a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
