Obituary of Louis Cappelletti
Smethport - Louis Cappelletti, 92, of Crosby, passed away Tuesday (December 22, 2020) in the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
He was born Oct. 28, 1928 in Crosby, PA, a son of Luigi and Maria Zammarchi Cappellitti. On May 9, 1953, in St. Elizabeth Church of Smethport, he married Sylvia Pais, who died on May 5, 2013.
Mr. Cappelletti attended Crosby schools and was a 1946 graduate of Smethport High School. He was Sgt. in the U.S. Army, serving during Korea.
Louis worked for Quaker State Oil Refinery of Farmers Valley for 43 years. He retired in 1990 after 43 years of faithful employment.
Louis was a life-long member of St. Elizabeth Church of Smethport, where he was a past member of the cemetery board, was a member of the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 of Crosby with 66 years of continued membership, the Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460, and was a former member of the Smethport Country Club and former member of both the Keating and Crosby Sportsman’s Clubs. He enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Italy to visit family living there.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, along with cousins in Italy.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Valentine Cappellitti, and one sister, Angeline Faes.
Due to COVID restrictions, services will be held privately with the family. Burial will be in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport.
