As I ascended the hillside towards my ladder stand in Southern Ohio Saturday morning, and I came into subtle cell phone reception, I learned of the unfortunate and devastating news. I just read RL’s (or Big Ralph’s) nicely worded obituary and had to chuckle, as he most certainly stayed on top of those damn hunting licenses for everyone lol. When thinking of him, I’ll always reminisce of hunting, his selflessness/generosity, which not enough people are aware of, and, “Hey, But. Want a pop?” He hated to see anyone go without and most importantly, while not his drink of choice, he always made sure to stay stocked up on pop for company. We’ll all have different fond memories of him, but these in addition to his prized Mule Deer mount, his time spent on the lawn tractor keeping it neat, and his trips up and down Jane Ware Road in the old little red truck, among other good memories, will be mine.

Uncle Ralph, UNC as we all called him was always close to myself and my brothers. There in good times and bad, with support or words of comfort. Everyone knew when we had to have our doe license in as he would call us all!! Camp always a great time.....many memories there. I will always remember the time we cleaned out the pond as a young boy from the city (Bradford) as he would say it. I was astonished by the coy that were caught and put in the tank outback! We had a blast starting with the old Ford Tractor, the go-cart and finally the 3 wheeler that myself and Brian will ALWAYS treasure. Canning beets was also a treat; he was teaching me to do....always FUN! The chicken coupe, the garden and the newts we used catch. UNC rest in peace for you have been there for all of US. He has been a mentor for many of us.
WE ALL LOVE YOU, Kerry,Jen, David, Dwayne, Debra & our families.
