Obituary of Earl F. Williams
Port Allegany - Earl F. Williams, 94, of Slatington PA, died Wednesday (October 31, 2018) at his daughter’s residence in Port Allegany.
He was born Nov 23, 1923 in Slatington, the son of John and Ellen Nichols Williams. He married Hilda Palkovitz, who died in March of 1989. .
Mr. Williams was a student of Slatington High School and served as a veteran of the US Navy during World War II on the USS Fessenden.
He was employed by Northern Lehigh SD in the maintenance department, where he was instrumental in unionizing the maintenance and office staffs . Later, he proudly served as president of the local union.
He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth (Robert) Mikovitch of Walnutport, Fran Williams of Port Allegany, and Ellen Haas of Slatington.
His memory lives on in his four grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott), Bob (Denise), Hilary, and Breana and seven great grandchildren, Lauren, Camryn, Jacob, Tyler, Justin, Brilynn and Eva who were his source of pride and happiness.
Earl's sense of humor will be passed on through stories told to his many friends and family. .
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers and sisters.
There will be no visitation.
Private funeral service will be held at later time.
