Obituary of Betty J. Corbett

Smethport - Betty J. Corbett, 69, of Crosby, died Saturday (April 11, 2009) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born June 12, 1939 in Crosby, a daughter of Ellsworth and Anna Weidert Lathrop. On Oct. 22, 1960, in Crosby, PA, she married Wayne L. Corbett, who survives. Mrs. Corbett was a 1957 graduate of Smethport High School and was a secretary, employed by PA Pressed Metals of Emporium, now GKN sintered metals, for 25 years before retirement. She was a member of the Crosby United Methodist Church, Norwich Twp. Fire Department and their Women's Auxillary, the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 Auxillary of Crosby, was a former member and EMT for the Smethport Ambulance service for many years, and was a member of the 8 & 40 Club. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Roy Corbett of Crosby, PA, Lane (Terry) Corbett of Smethport, PA Grandchildren: Michael Corbett, Ryan Corbett, Kyle Burton Corbett, Staci Corbett three sisters: Anna Mae Uber of Emporium, Orvella Luce of Crosby, PA, Pauline Black of Smethport, PA six brothers: Richard Lathrop of Port Allegany, PA, Ellsworth "Bones" Lathrop of Crosby, PA, James Lathrop of Port Allegany, PA, Paul Lathrop of Crosby, PA, Mike Lathrop of Turtlepoint, PA, Andrew Lathrop of Smethport, PA many nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will be held on Thursday, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the Crosby United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove. Memorials may be made to the Norwich Township Fire Department, Crosby, PA.
